Leo Davey - Painting & Illustration
Leo Davey studied illustration at Falmouth College of Arts in Cornwall. He now works as a full time artist/illustrator producing paintings for exhibitions, commissions and galleries.
Leo works with Indian ink and watercolour in a variety of styles, and an array of subjects ranging from meticulously rendered flora and fauna to loose seascapes, trees, birds, interiors, 1940/50’s influenced travel posters and also children’s illustration.
Leo works from a combination of photographic reference and life. “The photo is a starting point, something to be observed, adjusted, stylised and manipulated to achieve an inspired composition”.
Leo won the “Evolver” prize in 2010 and was a “Millfield Open” prize winner in 2011.
