Fiona Campbell - Sculpture

Raised in Kenya, Fiona gained distinction at the Byam Shaw School of Art, London. Since then, in between teaching, she has worked primarily as a sculptor. Fiona’s work focuses on steel, copper and wire pieces, sometimes created out of found and scrap materials, based on organic forms in nature. “I have always been intrigued by nests, insects and the process of weaving. I like the concept of reusing things – giving them a rebirth – and the playfulness of creating forms from given shapes. I moved into steel and wire because of its capacity to produce linear structures. I am currently exploring different possibilities with wire, such as layering, colour, texture and transparency.”

Currently living in Somerset, Fiona exhibits regularly, runs Workshops and occasionally holds Artist-in-Residence posts.
